Learn to Compete
Introduction
Fitness preparation deals primarily with the body. By this stage the athlete's muscles have reached their maximum size, but the ligaments and tendons are continuing to strengthen. There is therefore a risk of injury if training intensity is increased too quickly. The anaerobic system is reaching its maximum capacity. Young women increase proportionally more in weight than young men.
