Description

Kids should be able to recognize common and basic orienteering features in the terrain around them:

  • Boulders
  • Trails
  • Trees
  • Knolls
  • Play structures (large man-made objects)
  • Ponds
  • etc.

Kids will recognize many of these kinds of features automatically but they should learn that they are key orienteering features and are marked on orienteering maps and are places where they might find flags.
