Participating in at least 1 other aerobic sport

In order to develop a strong aerobic foundation athletes should participate in at least one other aerobic sport such as xc skiing, swimming, cycling, paddling, rowing, etc. Xc running, track and field, and other forms or running are great as well but having a non-weight bearing sport provides a healthy compliment to orienteering that gives athletes a better chance at avoiding injuries and damage to joints such as knees from repetitive use.
