The Learn to Train period is not a period of enhanced trainability for endurance in either boys or girls. Aerobic capacity training (Long Slow Distance, aerobic exercise, etc.) is therefore not a priority at this stage. Aerobic capacity will develop naturally with growth and young athletes should participate in activities at elevated heart rate (games of tag, free play, organized sports activities, etc.) until they tire.
