Place your thumb along the handrail (direction) you are going to travel.

Description

In order to help keep track of what your plan is and where you are on the map you should place your thumb along the handrail you are going to or are travelling along.

Execution

Note: orienteers should re-fold their map at every change in direction / transition to new handrail and orient themselves so they're pointing in the right direction
